Classes We Teach

Learn to create unforgettable cakes and candy for your family and friends.  If you have already taken a class, expand your skills to become a better decorator! Experience firsthand the enjoyment of cake decorating.  You will be amazed at the wonderful things you will learn.  You will find that the Wilton certified cake decorating classes both fun and fulfilling.  Also offered is an exclusive candy class. PREPAID registration is required for all classes and you must be 16 years of age. With each completed course you will receive a Wilton certification.

Wilton Course 1

"Decorating Basics"

You will learn the fundamentals and basics of cake decorating with step by step decorating techniques. You will learn how to make and color great tasting buttercream icing with the consistency needed to achieve the results you desire. You will be shown how fill and use a decorating bag with the correct pressure control and positions.  You will learn how to prepare your cake, add fillings and smooth icing three different ways.  In the beginning stages learn how to make stars, zigzags, curvy lines, piping and a shell boarder.  You will make flowers like the rose and 6 different drop flowers, pom pom, and shaggy mum along with figure piping, vines and leaves which will be used for arrangements on your cake. "Flowers & Cake Design"

You will build on the basics and learn amazing new techniques with elegant borders and lovely flowers.  In addition to the shell border is the rosette, rope and reverse shell border.  The flowers in this course are the Victorian Rose, Daisy, Daffodil, Pansy, Rosebud, Mum, Apple Blossom, Violet, Violet Leaf, and Primrose. With royal icing you can use any pattern you wish to add exciting three dimensional designs. You will touch on gum paste and fondant by making a button flower and pansy.  You will also learn Basket Weave variations and flower sprays. By expanding on the basics, you will have the tools to decorate a cake for any occasion.

"Gum Paste & Fondant"

Introduces details to enhance beauty like the fondant bow, rose and shaped flowers by hand.  You will make stunning Lilly nail flowers such as the Easter Lilly, Poinsettia, Petunia and the Morning Glory.  With Fondant and Gum paste, you will create flowers and accents with beautiful detail.  Use tools to cut and shape amazing textured ribbons and borders.  Using fondant you will make embellishments, overlays and marbleized effects.  With Gum Paste learn the Daisy, Carnation, Calla Lillym, Mum and Leaves.  Learn how to cover your cake and board with Fondant using imprints.  Develop skills to use for a life time!

"Advanced Gum paste Flowers"

You will be amazed by the breath-taking ways to decorate your cake with beautiful lifelike gum paste flowers.  Learn to make the Stargazer Lilly, Briar Rose, Sweet Pea, and Gerbera Daisy. You will also learn to make Ivy and Lilly Leaves, Blossoms and the Stephanotis Bud. By putting them together to make a beautiful floral arrangement you can add the desired finished touch on all of your cakes.
